After an awesome adventure to Veuve Clicquot, celebrating my 50th birthday, I captured the experience in a series of 50 11”x17” prints made entirely using 3D objects and a xerox scanner.

Veuve Series

Year: 2022

Medium: Series of 50 11”x17” xerox printed stills on matte paper.

Conception: In 2022, my close friend and I went to Veuve Clicquot, home to my favorite champaign, to celebrate my 50th birthday. This ended up being one of the best trips of my life, and I ended up collecting several souvenirs while there. After returning home, I wanted to create something to memorialize my trip and capture the amazing experience in a piece of art. Having access to a xerox machine at the time, I decided to take the chance to experiment with xerography and create unique works of art without any of my current digital design tools.

Making: The Veuve Series is a fully analogue collection of prints. To create the designs, I gathered the objects I brought back from Veuve Clicquot, and scanned them using a xerox machine. After several rounds of trial and error wherein I experimented with xerography, I ended up forming my final designs by moving, adding, and taking away objects, and making adjustments to color, saturation, contrast, and lighting. The end result is a series of 50 original 11x17 posters.

Impact: While I still have several pieces from the series most have been distributed and gifted to close friends and loved ones.
