Mentoring
My journey has never been easy or simple, but I never would have had the chance to be who I am today without the leaders who stood by me, the friends who cared for me, and the awe-inspiring people who taught me. Because of them, I have been able to keep growing, learning, and becoming a better, more open-minded person and for that I will always be grateful. I try to pay it forward by using my knowledge and experience to mentor others on their paths to success. I focus my time and energy on advising and providing support for young people, creatives, and nonprofits, with a particular emphasis on people of marginalized identities.
GumDrop
Gumdrop is a mobile app geared toward college students with a mission to give students a space to meet people on campus in a more natural way than typical social media sites. Gumdrop helps users find people they will connect with by taking a fresh approach to a tried and true concept: social gatherings. I worked closely with founder Kangle Lin to think through various app concepts, facilitated student connections at University of Texas at Austin, and connected the project founders to San Francisco designers.
Social K+Y
Social K+Y is a work in progress co-founded by myself and Kangle Lin. K+Y is a dynamic use of various online platforms including podcasts and TikTok to answer young adults' awkward questions.
K+Y began as a public service for college students who approached myself and Kangle with awkward questions because they had no one else to answer them. Keep an eye out for content as the idea is currently in development.
Veterans Women's Voices
Veteran Women’s Voices supports female military veterans in California with developing writing skills and confidence to express their unique experiences with a community of compassionate peers. Over time, they will add their voices to the emerging literature of women who serve in the military. I started as a client in this organization and the relationship has developed into advising and connecting the founders to pro bono non-profit legal services.
CODEX Builders
CODEX Builders, a network of support for young founders to accelerate their billion dollar ideas launched in October 2021 in San Francisco, CA.
In 2021, I partnered with two students from the School of Management of the University of San Francisco to create a network of students and alumni located in the San Francisco Bay Area who are actively launching and producing their ideas. CODEX Buildings helps these young founders to make a positive impact in the world through problem solving, product development, and networking.
The CODEX Builders program was completed in January 2023, having connected dozens of entrepreneurs and graduating 10 businesses founded by entrepreneurs of marginalized identities, coupling them with angel investors, and transferring them into the venture capitalists stage.
